15 days: Cairo + El Alamein and Western Desert jeep safari

We offer an exciting few days in Cairo followed by a tour of the El Alamein battlefield and its strategic features with the first overnight camp on a bluff overlooking the Mediterranean and the second on the edge of the Qattara Depression which terminated the Alamein line.

We then follow the routes of the Long Range Desert Group to their base in Siwa, through the Great Sand Sea and back to Cairo via the White Desert and Bahareya Oasis. Relics from the time will be found on the journey.

Day 1 Arrival in Cairo Airport / complimentary dinner
Day 2 Islamic Cairo (Egyptian Museum)
Day 3 Saqqara, Dahshur and Giza pyramid fields
Day 4 Transfer to El Alamein and visit to the memorials and museum / Camp on coast
Day 5 Explore the battlefield and camp on the edge of the Qattara Depression
Day 6 Jeep safari and camp in the Qatarra Depression
Day 7 Jeep safari to the quiet oases of Qara and Tabaghbag
Day 8 Arrive in Siwa / camp in Great Sand Sea
Day 9 Explore Siwa / camp in Great Sand Sea
Day 10 Jeep safari through the Great Sand Sea / camp
Day 11 Jeep safari through the Great Sand Sea / camp near Ain Dallah
Day 12 Jeep safari and White Desert Camp
Day 13 Farafra Oasis and White Desert camp
Day 14 Bahareya Oasis and return to Cairo
Day 15 Depart from Cairo
