Learning to ride a camel allows a very special relationship to develop between pupils and Bedouin, for just as the pupils are excited to learn, so are the Bedouin eager to pass on their skills, and as the pupils gain confidence in handling a camel, so do the Bedouin develop pride in themselves. A Bedouin teacher is assigned to every two pupils and accompanies them on all the treks.
